In Unit 1.4, we focus on how the structures and functions of the brain relate to behavior and mental processes. The brain is the control center of the body, coordinating everything from basic life-sustaining activities to complex cognitive functions. Different areas of the brain have specialized roles in regulating behavior, movement, cognition, and emotion. Through research, scientists have identified the functions of specific brain regions and how they work together to produce the mental and physical processes that define our behavior.
