The electron arrangement of an atom describes how its electrons are distributed around the nucleus. Electrons are found in specific regions called energy levels or electron shells. These shells are arranged in layers, with the closest shell to the nucleus having the lowest energy. Understanding how electrons are arranged helps explain an atom's chemical properties and how it interacts with other atoms.
